It was a large turnout, as the urban community of Oji River Local Government Area in Enugu State converged for their monthly urban progressive Assembly meeting and empowerment programme for the less privilages and disabled in the urban community. Major highlights of their discussions and agreements was the endorsement of the state Governor for second TENURE, declaring " No Vacancy " at the Lion's Building come 2019. The people were grateful to the state Governor for his intervention in the maintenance of the Oji River - Awka roàd, which had claimed so many lives as a result of accidents and mishaps especially between the Oji River Wonderful junction. The group also thanked the Governor for the quality road works in Oji River urban / Ugwuoba boundaries. Speaking at the meeting, the coordinator of the group - Hon. Greg Ujah urged the people of Oji River urban to always pray for our working Governor and seek havens attentions for the development of the state.
Other programmes in the monthly meeting includes the donation of four brand new Tiger Generators by the Omex Global foundation. The generators was part of the commitment of the Omex Global foundation In ensuring that every adult in Oji River urban, posses a valid voters registration card. The generators were given out on a draw to one person each from the four political wards in the urban community. This is the fourth month of this gesture by Omex Global foundation.
Also, a normal cash of one hundred thousand naira was given for the monthly empowerment for the less privilages ones in the urban community- a programmed also sponsored by the OMEX GLOBAL FOUNDATION. The beneficiaries were also drawn from different wards in Oji River.
Presenting the items to the lucky winners, the traditional ruler of Nnoshi Kingdom , HRH Igwe Law thanked the people of Oji River urban for showing concern for the development of the urban community , and prayed that God will assist the people to emerge the next LG chairman of the Local Government, which according to him is long overdue. He strongly insisted that with unity and steadfastness, that our demand will be met. Other groups that spoke during the meeting was the blind, students, widows and community stakeholders - who also prayed the political class to accord the urban community of their willingness to contest for the oncoming LG polls, challenging that it's right time for an Oji River urban man or woman to emerge the LG chairman. They also appreciated the fatherly roles of our Governor especially in dishing an extra development centre to the Local Government Area.
